The Gift - Week 1

The Gift - Week 1

Becoming a giver is the key to happiness in this life

Open:

  • What is the greatest gift you have been given by another person?

  • How did you show gratitude?

Observe:

Read John 3:16

  • Why is this the most famous verse in the Bible?

  • Describe the relationship between love and sacrifice?

  • What does it mean to believe?

1 John 4:8

God has revealed himself as Love.

  • In what ways has our culture contaminated our understanding of love?

  • John says, “God is Love.” What does that mean to you?

Matthew 28:18-19

  • What is keeping you from effectively sharing Jesus Christ with others? Are there any adjustments you need to make in either your message or attitudes? If so, what would it take?

Reflect:

  • If Christians were really known by our love for one another, how might that create opportunities to connect with our neighbors?

  • Do you sense that, as a group, we’re growing in compassion toward one another? If not, what is standing in the way?

Application:

  • Prayerfully consider who God is asking you to invite to Christmas Eve services?

  • Share with your group so you can hold each other accountable.

We would like to make this easy for you. Stop by the gift assembly table to build a gift for your friend, neighbor, co-worker or family member.
