  • If you could have any super power what would it be?

Pastor Doug spoke about superhero “origin stories” When we accept Christ, we are all given a super power: We become eternal

  • Do your actions reflect that you are living for eternity? 

  • In what ways? 


Read Proverbs 3:1-19 and 3:27-31

The proverbs have 2 main goals: Keeping us from actions that have bad consequences, and helping us to relate effectively with others.

  • What examples of these 2 types of commands do you see in Proverbs 3? 

  • When bad things happen, how do you determine if it’s God’s discipline, misfortune, or the natural consequence of your choices? 

  • What is the result of the cause you assign?

  • What does Proverbs say about wisdom?

  • How is God’s wisdom in verses 19 and 20 like ours? How is it different?

  • In verse 31, who are the “violent” What other words might have been used? 

In Proverbs 3, there are 3 metaphors  for wisdom used to make it seem desirable. 

  • What are they?

  • Which one is most appealing to you? Why?

Application:

  • What situation in your life is calling you to trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding?

  • How will you acknowledge Him in ALL your ways?
