Go Green - Week 2

Go Green - Week 2: Building a Healthy You - Physically, Spiritually, Emotionally and Intellectually

My Story:

  • What areas of life do you feel strongest: physical, spiritual, emotional, or intellectual?

  • What areas would you like to grow in?

Digging Deeper:

1.Building a healthy and sustainable life involves honoring God with our physical bodies.

Read aloud Psalm 139:14 and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

  • What grabs your attention the most and why?

2. Building a healthy and sustainable life involves a growing spiritual life.

Read aloud Philippians 3: 5-11

  • What is the goal of Paul’s life?

  • Does this goal make a difference in the way that Paul chose to live out his life?

  • What is the goal of our Christian living?

  • What does it mean to “know” Christ?

Paul says that he wants to become like Christ in his death.

  • How does a person become like Christ in his death?

  • Is this death something that we do once in our life, or is it a death that we choose to die on a regular basis? (Luke 9:23; Romans 6:3-7)

  • How difficult is it for you to die to self in order to live for God? What makes this a regular part of your life?

  • How can we be an encouragement to each other as we die daily to self and live for Christ?

3. Building a healthy and sustainable life involves nurturing a healthy emotional life.

Read aloud Proverbs 17:22 and Ephesians 4:32

  • What do you do to cultivate a cheerful heart?

  • Who is your positivity role model? That one person who always sees the bright side?

  • Explain the correlation between forgiveness and a cheerful heart? Who do they go hand in hand?

4. Building a healthy and sustainable life involves stimulating a healthy intellectual life.

Read aloud Proverbs 24:14

  • Define wisdom. Why does the author say it’s like honey?

  • What do you do to stimulate your mind?
