Making Strong Decisions

How does the Lord direct us?  Have you ever made a decision in the past that you thought were right but were wrong?

What makes a strong decision stronger is when you understand the why before the what.  Guidance isn’t something God just gives you. It’s something he does in you when you become a child of God and you live and walk in that identity.  Understand that my heart is not always aligned with God’s greatest purpose.  We must trust God in our growth process makes stronger decisions through that.

Acts 22:10 – What shall I do, Lord? I asked

1 Thessalonians 4:3 – It is God’s will that you should be sanctified

2 Corinthians 3:18 – And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Making Wise Decisions

Doug talks about wisdom and divine direction. It’s not God’s goal to tell is what to do, but instead to give us wisdom to make better decisions. Wisdom is something WE get and gives us safety:

Young people need older people and older people need younger people.  If you want wisdom then walk with the wise.  Seek wisdom by aligning yourself with God and start fresh with Jesus.  Wisdom comes from understanding and under standing comes from living.

1 Corinthians 16:5-7 – I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, 6 and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.

Proverbs 4:7-8
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight.
8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;
she will honor you if you embrace her.

Proverbs 1:33 – but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.

Proverbs 13:20 – Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

James 1:5-8 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
