Circles of Life – Week 3
Icebreaker:
- Are you a listener or a talker?
Going deeper:
- Inlight of this week’s sermon, what is new information, challenged, or stood out to you?
Read aloud Hebrews 10:24-25
- The author’s call to fellowship in action and in worship is given a sense of urgency by what coming event?
- In what specific ways could you spur another Christian on toward love and good deeds?
- What or who spurs you on?
“Love must be learned, and learned again and again; there is no end to it. Hate needs no instruction, but wants only to be provoked.” Katherine Anne Porter
- Agree or disagree? Why or why not?
Read aloud John 14:1-18
- What do you worry most about?
- How does Jesus comfort His disciples?
- What is this “house”?
- Do Jesus’ listeners understand what He is talking about? (v.5)
- In troubled times, what has given you hope and courage?
- Do you feel the promises Jesus makes in verses 12-14 are “blank check” promises about prayer, or are there some conditions?
Reflect:
- If Jesus is the way, do you feel you are on a bumpy dead-end street or a four lane high-way?
- In light of 14:6 how would you respond to someone who said “there are many ways to God”?
Application:
5 traits of people who have healthy, meaningful relationships:
