This seems to be almost exactly what we are experiencing today. Except the Jewish leaders are the coronavirus!
- Why are the disciples fearful?
- What are people fearing today? Yes, covid-19, but what specifically are people fearing?
- Of all things Jesus said at this time, why do you think the author records “peace be with you” twice?
- What does this peace lead to?
- How does it relate to their fears of the time?
- How does it relate to our fears today?
These moments, like any other moment in our life, expose how any old hope will not do. We need authentic hope. Powerful hope. Unwavering hope.
